Position: Medical Assistant Program Director/Faculty (tenure track)
Salary: $33,737 - $40,532/year. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, & placement on the MSU-Great Falls Faculty Salary Structure. 9-month contract.
Union: Vocational Technical Educators of Montana

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position performs both administrative and instruction-related duties and responsibilities for the Division of Health Sciences and the Medical Assistant degree program in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies, and procedures of the College.  This is an on campus position.

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

  1. Perform program accreditation responsibilities to ensure that the program achieves and maintains CAAHEP accreditation.  This includes annual reports, outcomes assessment, and accreditation renewal;
  2. Develop and teach didactic, laboratory and clinical courses relevant to the Medical Assistant Program;
  3. Supervise and instruct students completing clinical requirements; and
  4. Advising students in the Medical Assistant Program.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Current Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) required;
  2. Associate Degree required; Bachelor's degree or higher in related field (this may include education, health information technology, health care management, etc.) preferred;
  3. A minimum of three years as a practicing Medical Assistant, with both clinical and administrative experience preferred;
  4. Teaching, training or educational programming experience  preferred;
  5. Instruction in educational theory or techniques required;
  6. Experience teaching in a community or technical college setting preferred;
  7. Experience teaching in a CMA or Allied Health program preferred;
  8. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required;
  9. Computer literacy required; and
  10. Ability to teach in the classroom, online, and clinical settings preferred.
