Dual Credit Student Recipient of Dustin Parker Memorial Scholarship |
"Dual Credit courses allow me to be a step ahead when I enroll in college next year, but right now they challenge me as a student in a way that no other classes can."
"Dual Credit courses and the Dustin Parker Memorial Scholarship have been a major impact on me and my ability to further save money once I do enroll in college. But more importantly it has presented my family to save money that they can now invest in my sibling’s education, in the hopes they too can get a jump start on their college careers." |

"As a teacher’s aide during the day, a student in the evenings, and mother to two children always, it seemed at times that the odds were against me as I pursued my degree and put myself through college. But working, being a mother, and a student is something I would never trade."
"Walking across the stage at graduation is satisfying for everyone, but after getting myself here by working during the days, studying at night and being a mother and a daughter all at the same time, only made my satisfaction that much more sweet." "Being a non-traditional student and having responsibilities greater than the typical college student, I had to work as hard outside the classroom as I did in it to afford my education without going too much in debt. I applied for scholarships, saved money where I could, and I made it. Nothing has been so rewarding." |

"Rather than focusing on endowments and complex investment strategies that would help students and the College only in the long term, we decided to act now and focus on how we can help students today."
"We as a community must do what we can to promote higher education opportunities right here in Great Falls, to ensure our city and those who call it home prosper." "We’ve longed for an active and progressing institution of higher learning here in Great Falls. MSU–Great Falls has met that need and will prove to be a leader in our city’s future.”"

"I was very thankful when I received the Herb Waltermire Foundation Scholarship. It not only helped me to pay for my schooling, but it also helped me to pay for daycare costs while I was attending my classes. The spring semester was much more enjoyable without so many worries on my shoulders. As of the end of Spring Semester, I did very well in my classes which granted me acceptance into the Radiology program here. I have begun this fall and am thankful this scholarship will continue to help me afford my education and pay for daycare. I am forever thankful." |

"I would consider myself a non-traditional student as I am a bit older than the typical enrollee, but I feel it is never too late to become a student again. I felt that it was important for me to wait to return to school until my youngest child started kindergarten because I refused to be too busy for my children during some of their most important years of life. Attending college would not be possible for me without financial assistance. Receiving the scholarship was a blessing to me and my family. This scholarship provided all of the funds I needed to cover the cost of tuition, and I cannot thank you enough for your pure generosity. Without the help of this scholarship, I would have been forced to delay finishing the last part of my coursework needed to start the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Please know that your gift goes beyond the value of a dollar and that you are truly making a difference in the future of many lives. This will be my last semester at MSU—Great Falls, and I hope to move on to the Bozeman BSN program. From there I would like to pursue my Master's degree in nursing and become a nurse practitioner specializing in caring for the people in our Montana rural communities." |

"As professionals in this community, we have the opportunity to support education and workforce development through the philanthropic efforts of our businesses. We ultimately benefit from the financial support provided local students through scholarship, the funding of programs and services, and through Faculty funded positions. Business Philanthropy is an investment in our organizations’ success." |
