Hello! Hopefully your semester is going along smoothly and spring fever hasn’t hit you just yet.  The latest snow we’ve had in Great Falls has snuffed mine out for the time being! February seems to be flying by and the semester is approaching mid-term already! There are a few things I’d like to pass along to you as we near the month of March:

·         Mid-term grades will be coming due in March. Tom Degel will be sending out a note regarding entry of grades into Banner. Keep on a lookout for his email.

·         Campus Life Distribution List: If you’d like to be included in the email distribution list where employees can send out more informal things related to our campus and local or personal events, please email Dave Bonilla to let him know you would like to be added to this list.

·         Missouri River Break is coming up. The first day of registrations was Feb 18. The full schedule was in Sunday’s Great Falls Tribune (Feb 17, 2008). Some workshops fill up fast, so register now for best placement! All workshops cost $5 each. A listing and registration form can be found online at: http://outreach.msugf.edu/mrb/index.asp.

·         50% discount! All adjunct instructors receive a 50% discount on any Outreach classes (not counting MRB).

·         Accommodations and FERPA: Jill Davis and I will be working on some information regarding accommodations for students in relation to FERPA. Remember that any information about an accommodation for a student is confidential under FERPA and should not be shared with other students or faculty.

·         Absences: If you must be absent from a class, whether it is planned (and students have work to keep them busy) or unplanned (illness), please let your department know so they will be prepared for any students who may show up for class.

·         The adjunct office has moved! The adjunct office is now located in R241 behind Lee Anne Gills’ desk in the Arts and Sciences area. It is smaller and space is a little more limited. There is currently not a keypad on the door. If you need access to the office after hours, please contact the helpdesk and a custodian can let you in.

·         Kimberly Cummings from the MSU- Great Falls Student Assistance Foundation has some information to share with you. I have attached her letter to this email. If you have any questions she can be reached at 406-771-5136.

·         Evaluations: It is time to schedule evaluations for this semester. If you are due an evaluation, your liaison will be contacting you. I have spoken to or scheduled all observations/evaluations with those who will be evaluated by me this semester.

·         Email:  As always, be sure to check your msugf email account regularly for updates on policy, student services information, etc…

My office has moved to G18 (the old Registrar’s office). Feel free to stop by any time and chat!

Warmest Wishes,

Kim Schrenk
