Dear adjunct faculty,
I hope this newsletter finds you all well, with busy classes and students. Thanksgiving is approaching quickly and soon after will be the end of the semester. I am always amazed at how quickly time seems to go. In the spirit of the season, I want to thank all of you for the work you do for MSU – Great Falls and the College of Technology in Bozeman. Your contribution to our institution is vital to what we can offer students and our communities. Your level of commitment, desire to see students succeed, and dedication to our programs cannot be underestimated.
I have a few things to share with you in this month’s newsletter:
· The deadline for returning spring Letters of Appointment is coming up (Nov 21). If you have not returned yours yet, please return it to Heather Palermo. If you have been expecting one but not yet received it, please contact your Department’s Administrative Assistant to inquire.
· The migration to Desire to Learn (D2L) will be happening much sooner than originally anticipated. All online courses will be delivered through D2L beginning summer 2009. A kickoff and training session to prepare for spring semester will be held on Dec 5 in Heritage Hall (Great Falls campus) from 9:00 am to noon. All are strongly encouraged to attend. The distance learning office will also be working on a web-archived version of the event for those who can’t attend. Training sessions for adjunct faculty in Bozeman are also available. If you are in the Bozeman area and are interested in attending training on D2L, please visit the following website for more information: http://eu.montana.edu/btc/tlt/training/D2L/default.htm.
· The holiday luncheon on the Great Falls campus is scheduled for Dec 18, starting around noon. Human Resources will be sending out more information as the time for the luncheon gets closer. All are welcome to attend. The COT in Bozeman is also planning a holiday get-together. More information on dates and times will be sent out as information is available.
As always, feel free to stop by, call or email at any time. Thank you for all you do for MSU – Great Falls College of Technology!
