Why you are running for the position?
I am running for this position because I see many changes that could be made to better the school and the students attending. I want to make Student Government more known and therefore recognized and encourage others to join in. I was involved in putting out a survey to see what the students wanted to see happen around the school and I want to follow up on a lot of the suggestions made by the students.
Any other information you would like to share with the Associated Students voting for you. I am a hard-working individual who would take this position very seriously. I would dedicate the majority of my time to fulfilling the responsibilities of the position. I place a lot of value in what the students have to say and what the students expect of Student Government. I would put forth the effort and go out of my way to meet those expectations.

I was not seeking the position, I was approached by an officer who asked if I would be interested in being nominated. I was hesitant out of concern that I would not be able to devote enough time to properly fulfill my duties. After consulting with several advisers, I felt that I could do justice to the position and accepted the nomination.

Desiree Dean - Running for Treasurer
Your program & other related information about you as a student:
Respiratory Care. I choose a career field that requires a great deal of empathy in dealing with patients on a one-to-one basis. I believe that we should not only represent our program but should also apply those same principals to our school, and our communities. We have been gifted with the ability to make choices for ourselves and that same gift also obligates us to serve our school, and community any capacity we can.
Your experience in Student Government:
I have served 2 semesters in the Student Senate, served 2 additional semesters as the Treasurer and am currently Treasurer.
Why you are running for the position?
I am running for the position of Treasurer for a variety of reasons. One is that I am a bookkeeper for Town Pump and therefore possess the skills necessary to assure that the student governments’ accounts are precise and unmodified and would not be a rubber stamp for anyone. Secondly, I enjoyed my work as a member of the Student Senate and would like to carry that on a higher level. I firmly believe that what we are given we must give back. In my generation most feel apathy with regards to actually going out and doing what they are saying. There is an old adage but it is so true “Actions speaks louder than words.” We must all continue to strive to fulfill our obligations.
Any other information you would like to share with the Associated Students voting for you. My program is a small program because our advisors and professors insure that we can meet and exceed our goals in our chosen profession. This emphasis on quality makes us strive to achieve the program’s stated goals. Another reason for my running is that I feel that all programs, large or small must be represented in student government. We must continually strive to achieve representation from all the different programs that MSU Great Falls offers.
