You will perform repairs and also teach others to use the equipment and software.
You will install computers, printers, other hardware and software. You will perform installations and repairs and instruct others on the operation of hardware and software. You will evaluate computer hardware and software needs, determine pricing and upgrade equipment and software.
Microcomputer Support offers the chance to work in virtually any field – because virtually all businesses rely on computers. You will be qualified to work in corporations, hospitals, law and accounting firms, schools and any business or home that relies on computer technology.
You will begin learning general concepts about computers, database management, and how to troubleshoot problems on a PC and how to support other computer users. You will learn about networks, basic and web-specific programming and electronic spreadsheets. Math, English and business courses will round out your portfolio of skills and knowledge, making you capable of performing the tasks you will be asked to perform on the job.
